Fábio Wajngarten, a spokesman for Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, tested positive for the coronavirus after dining with President Trump and Vice President Pence at Mar-A-Lago on Saturday.

A high-ranking Brazilian official who dined with President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence at Mar-a-Lago on Saturday has tested positive for the coronavirus.

Fábio Wajngarten, a spokesman for Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, tested positive for the virus, according to several Brazilian news outlets. Wajngarten tested positive after flying home with flu-like symptoms. The Brazilian newspaper Estadão reports that Wajngarten is currently awaiting the results of a second test to confirm the diagnosis.

Wajngarten not only dined with Trump and Pence, but was photographed standing next to them. He posted the photo to his Instagram over the weekend.

He also posted another photo with Bolsonaro.

Bolsonaro, who like Trump has downplayed the crisis, calling it a “fantasy,” is now being tested for coronavirus. He and other senior officials who were around Wajngarten are also being continuously monitored for symptoms, according to press reports.

Asked about the news on Thursday, Trump said he is “not concerned” about the development.
