Democracy in the United States can be confusing for anyone—especially children. With that in mind, check out our kid-friendly guide to this year’s election.

Elections are complicated. We probably all remember how confusing the commotion surrounding presidential elections were as kids, and this year things are even more complicated.

With that in mind, COURIER put together this kid-friendly cartoon to help explain some of the election’s most fundamental ideas. We certainly didn’t touch on everything—the Electoral College can be confusing even for adults, after all. However, we hope this guide will be a helpful introduction to the democratic system in the United States for the country’s future voters.
