Meghan Mccarthy Will Serve As Editorial Lead And Manager Of All Eight Of Courier’s Newsrooms
NEW YORK, NY – February 14, 2022 – Courier Newsroom — a civic media company dedicated to growing local newsrooms across the country reporting on the issues most important to building more informed and engaged communities — today announced its promotion of Meghan McCarthy to the position of Vice President of Content. In this role, McCarthy will serve as the editorial lead and manager of all eight of Courier’s newsrooms, overseeing day-to-day pitch to production and ensuring that all content aligns with the company’s commitment to increase civic participation.
Before this position, McCarthy helped found and lead Dogwood, Courier’s Virginia local news outlet, and flagship newsroom founded in 2019. She began her career reporting for National Journal and CQ Roll Call, where she covered health policy in Congress. McCarthy was a co-founder of Morning Consult and founder of Maternie, which answers parenting questions with the latest research, expert opinions, and stories from parents’ own experiences. Her work has been featured on C-SPAN, MSNBC, National Public Radio, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and The Atlantic, among other national news outlets.
