After House Democrats powered through a massive $3 trillion coronavirus relief bill last week, the Senate plans to instead focus on judicial nominations.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has said there’s no “urgency” to pass another bill and that Republicans are “assessing what we’ve done already.”
Several leading 2020 Democratic candidates are trying to win back the Senate from Republicans while refusing corporate PAC money.

The twin announcements from highlight Biden's effort to avoid a repeat of the 2016 presidential election, when tensions between establishment Democrats and the party's progressive flank hobbled Hillary Clinton in her loss to President Donald Trump.
